タトゥーを入れてからの24時間どう過ごす?

As we've mentioned before, tattoo aftercare is a very important process. It takes about 2-3 weeks to fully heal, but this time we'll focus on the first 24 and 48 hours. Although it's a tedious care routine, neglecting it can lead to serious problems later on, so make sure to take proper care of your tattoo.

The First 24 Hours

In tattoo aftercare, the first 24 hours are the most crucial. This is because the tattooed area is an exposed wound, which significantly increases the risk of infection.

・Protective Wrap: After applying the ink, the tattoo artist will wrap the affected area to protect it. This is to prevent dust and microscopic dirt particles from entering the open wound. Typically, the wrap can be removed after 4 to 6 hours of protection, but this depends on the size of the affected area, so please follow the instructions given at the time.

・Cleanliness: The most important thing to watch out for during the healing process is infection. Once you remove the protective cover, thoroughly clean the affected area with lukewarm water and a soft, foamy soap. Wash away all plasma and blood that has seeped from the tattoo. Do not scratch or rub the tattoo with your hands. Gently pat it clean with a soft towel, then allow it to air dry.

Care: Once the area is clean, dry it using air drying, a fan, or a blower (try to use a slightly cool temperature). After a few minutes, once the tattoo is completely dry, apply a small amount of tattoo cream to the tattooed area. This will ensure that the tattoo remains properly moisturized. To keep your tattoo in perfect condition, it needs to be exposed to the air, so do not use any protective sheets or bandages after this stage.

The First 48 Hours

By day two, you will likely notice that your tattoo looks quite dull. This is completely normal and no cause for concern. This is because your skin has begun to heal, and it will continue to do so over the next few days. Also, there's no need to wash your tattoo immediately after waking up. Try to keep your tattoo from getting wet as much as possible. This will help your skin dry, which in turn will allow the tattoo to heal better. After getting a new tattoo, it's also important to moisturize it properly every morning.

UV Radiation: If you plan to go out in the sun, you should cover your tattoo with a thin cloth to protect it from direct sunlight. UV rays are indeed the archenemy of a fresh tattoo, so you need to cover it with a clean, soft towel. If you don't have one, a bandana can be used as a substitute. If you think your tattoo has been exposed to dust or dirt, clean it again with lukewarm water and a mild tattoo soap.

Cleaning: While you are cleaning the affected area, some ink may come out. This is simply excess ink and plasma that has accumulated on the skin's surface. Also, it may appear red and swollen, but this is a normal sign of healing, so please rest assured.

Finally: Especially during the first 24-72 hours, it is crucial to avoid exposure to sunlight and contact with heat or water. Baths should be kept to quick showers, and intense exercise such as swimming or going to the gym should also be avoided. During this time, in particular, the skin will be sensitive, so caution is necessary. Follow the proper process, and don't forget to moisturize.
